VINEYARD
The vineyards are near Sambuca di Sicilia and are 18 years old and surround Lago Arancio (Lake Arancio). The vineyards are north-facing meaning a cooler exposition with limestone soil profile. Afternoon sea breezes from the South-West provide further essential cooling.
WINEMAKING
We pick slightly earlier than most as we prefer a brighter style. Fruit is destemmed and fermented in small one-tonne fermenters. Fruit remains on skins for 10 days and gentle extraction before pressing to 2000 litre French oak casks.
TASTING
Purple red in colour, the palate shows plum and dark berries, with aniseed notes, bright herbs, and spice. A wonderful soft tannin structure makes this a delicious vintage.
