WINE REVIEWS
2017 Vintage ‘Renowned Aussie winemaker, Justin Bubb, created this range to focus on ideal wine regions of Italy. While his nero d’Avola from Sicily is brilliant, it’s this wildly delicious rendition of Chianti that gets podium placing, it shows scents of sarsaparilla, clove and lavender while offering drinkers a masterclass in fine, al dente tannins stretched over lightly juicy, dark cherry and earth spice flavours. It’s surprisingly bright, drinkable in its youth and generally feels like a wine of some seriously excellent value.’
2018 Vintage Affordable red from Chiantishire. Cocoa, aniseed, baking spices, red cherry. It’s smooth, seductive, plush in tannin, some sage and floral perfume, polished and easy to get around, though maybe a little too buffed and modern. Some toasted nuts, vanilla and ripe strawberry, new leather in there, and a juicy and gently sandy tannin finish of good length. Nice wine
